African American Vernacular English a good example of AAVE, aka Ebonics Date: 05/10/2008 "He doesn't have too many kid or none he has about a average much of kids!!! Boo ya!"

There are so many memorable things about these compounding grammatical errors. And they all crescendo with the anticlimax of the triple-underlined word "kids," and the zinger to rub said anticlimax in your face.

You know I keep reading these linguistics articles that african american vernacular english is either a pure pidgin, a pure creole, or a pure form of Scottish/Gaelic. Some have argued, I would say without academic basis, that it is somehow related to west african dialects. But lines like this allow none of these theories. I snapped a picture of this off the board, referring to the teacher next door.
