Meet the Mormons - University of Colorado The Campus Press

This was obviously written by someone concerned with getting the etiquette and verbiage right.  There are some weird-isms, but nothing that should be overtly taught in a business writing class.  It's interesting that they don't say the word "Mormon" until the end, and in a grand scheme that's probably good. Two things of note, really...
  1. First, they don't capitalize the T in "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints."
  2. Second, "Austin... converted to LDS last semester."  The article does quite well saying "the LDS church" through most of its text, but this is simply grammatically incorrect.  "LDS" is of course short for "Latter-day Saints," which is in turn short for the church in #1.  Therefore one can say "Austin... converted to being LDS last semester," or "Austin... became LDS" or "Austin converted to Mormonism" or "Austin joined The Church of Jesus Christ" or "Austin joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints."  You just can't say "coverted to LDS."
